Like most other insects, termites require access to water to survive. In fact, termites are unable to digest cellulose based food sources if an adequate amount of moisture is not available. Termites will ultimately die without access to water, making limiting the access they have to areas with excessive moisture critical for limiting the chances of termite infestation.
